Some 5 years, 250 posts and 30.000 readers ago I started off with:
It wasn’t until someone recently asked me where they could buy postcards of Alcalá that I realized there are probably no postcards of Alcalá. There aren’t any stickers that say I ♥ Alcalá, or Go Alcalá football banners either. And as far as I know absolutely nothing ever happened here that anyone would want to know about. I also realized that is what I like the most about this place. Alcalá del Valle is an old, unpretentious market town that has been around since the days of the Romans. We live here since mid 2011 where we run a boutique Bed and Breakfast and may be it is time to show the rest of the world what day to day can happen in the land of mañana, mañana but also of fiesta, torero, flamengo and horses. Follow us on our journey, we are as curious where it will lead as you should.
And so it happened. Meanwhile blogging is out fashion and I leave it to someone else to keep you updated about live in Andalusia via Vlogging, Instagram, Snapchat or whatever is the flavour of the day.
It was great fun to write for you as it also learned me a lot about the country and area that I am now seeing as my second home. Thanks for all the feedback, comments and jokes that I received over the years.
I don’t know how long this site will be readable (as I won’t be paying WordPress the annual fee anymore….) but you can always find me at another ancient tool called Cortijo.el.Guarda@gmail.com.
Muchas Gracias Amigos!
